For proper lumber storage, the units of lumber need to be kept out of rain and snow, yet there should be sufficient airflow to keep excess moisture build up. I currently use vertical storage for dimensional lumber i find the longer pieces tend to bow a bit (sometimes more than a bit) the shorter pieces are just fine though. It makes so much sense!
