Stove Smells Like Burning Plastic. We just bought a new electric kenmore stove. Furnace smells like burning plastic smell or burning rubber. On top of the smell it makes the food taste like it too!!
It burnt a brown spot into it, i threw that piece of junk away as quickly as possible and used a different cable.
Does the burnt smell and taste go away when broken in or am i doing something wrong. It looked and smelled just like burnt plastic. I even turned the machine off and opened it up to make sure the fans were working it's not like this was the first time i'd ever put something on the stove and forgotten about it. I feel like the smells not as strong as it was earlier today( i just got it today). The stove is pretty clean as best i can see and there is no plastic anywhere around. Just got my phone when i plugged my charger in to get some power on my phone it started to get hot and smell like burned plastic. Once the stove it used again, the plastic will burn and smell bad. On top of the smell it makes the food taste like it too!!
