Roxul Safe N Sound Reviews. I'm going to make some sound absorbing panels to place on the wall behind my listening chair. I believe the difference between the safe n sound and regular roxul is just that the former has been tested and rated for. I bought some safe and sound, for the first time the other day from my local home depot.
Safe n sound is the same thing as mineral wool insulation.

I can't tell whether safe 'n' sound is better than other methods available to reduce sound transmission through walls and floors because i didn't have time to experiment during. I have roxul safe 'n' sound as well in all of the walls and ceilings of my renovated home and it definitely made a difference. If the roxul is exposed to air that finds its way into living space i recommend finding some way to cover it up. We are going to be putting either fiberglass batts or roxul safe'n'sound between the joists before finishing i've heard the roxul does a good job, but our insulation guy says in his opinion there's really no i am aware there are other things we can do for the sound, including a potential drop ceiling, etc. I can't smell a trace of it, and to be honest, i never did (once the walls went up).
