Minwax Classic Gray Stain On Red Oak. Jacobean had black lines which was not. Every single piece of wood took on a gray hue including the red oak. They have been reproduced using digital production techniques.

Minwax classic gray came out very light. Stain sample,wood samples, minwax wood stain samples, rustic distressed, whitewash, dark walnut, ebony, espresso, black,gray. I had a similar experience just yesterday. Classic oak, english chestnut, english oak, golden oak, harvest gold, honey maple, honey pine, manor oak, mission oak, natural, oak, pecan and puritan pine. Always test stain on a hidden area of the wood to verify desired color. Luckily i discovered weathered oak just in time for my next project! I've been using minwax classic gray until now, not always loving the darkness of the gray that comes out of that stain. Now that we've explored all 10 stains on pine, poplar, red oak, and white wood, i have one more.
