That's not the case when cutting anything with a router (normally). Very light cuts (maybe.050 deep), in plastic, with a 1/4 end mill. Don't ruin a good one by attempting to use it as a mill. Buy cheap drill press 2. I have used an end mill many times in a drill press for the exact same thing. I will only be doing the z axis even. The result is far from perfect but not bad for an investment of about $120 and some time. I have a small micro drill press at work i am starting to convert to cnc using grbl.
