Fast drying amber toned undercoat. But in those cases, the wood was pretty bland. Harsh lacquer solvents can melt the filler if applied to heavily. I then used crystalac wood grain filler to fill the pores and grain. That means that every bit of the wood's color (stained or not) comes through brilliantly.
