Blo Wood Finish. Wood finish comes in as many varieties as there are species of wood. Boiled linseed oil (blo) is produced from oil of specially selected flax and heated using advanced technology without addition of any chemical components. I have been working with wood since i could stumble into the shop with my dad.
This solvent evaporates as the finish cures.
Boiled linseed oil and paste wax finish is one of my favorite wood finishes. Wood finishing is one of the biggest bugaboos for many woodworkers. Boiled linseed oil (blo) is produced from oil of specially selected flax and heated using advanced technology without addition of any chemical components. Blo is used as a paint binder or as a wood finish on its own. Though they remain undaunted by complex joinery or intricate and precise machining all wood finishes can be classified as one of two distinctly different types, based on how they dry, or cure. This is one of the big reasons i use a boiled linseed oil and paste wax finish. It is fast and easy to apply and provides a great finish! Just like you did with the stain, use a natural bristle brush to apply the stain.
