Bandsaw Sled For Cross Cutting Logs. The only bandsaw circle cutting jig that fits every need! Just about any bandsaw will do acceptable resawing. In this video i show how i made a band saw sled to cut log slices.

Cross cut sleds are a great accessory for your tablesaw, but it can be a hassle to get the sled's fence square to the blade, and to get two miter slot bars aligned properly. Here i show you the new saw and the sled i made for it. A cross cut sled is the most used jig in my shop, so i decided to make a new one that is lighter for everyday use and has a bunch of jigs and attachments to time for a new cross cut sled! My old sled was the best thing i ever built for my shop, but there was one big problem with it… it was too big! Some friends of the family had a house fire a few months ago. Sawing short logs, or firewood logs on a bandsaw is easy with a shop made bandsaw log cutting jig, and you table, guide and sled for milling large logs with a regular woodshop bandsaw. I was trying to saw a small log (5 diameter) on a bandsaw, but was having a very difficult time keeping it flush on the table due to the irregularities in the log. I needed the full 27 cm (11) depth of cut of my bandsaw just to cut through the log, so i couldn't afford to raise the log by putting it on a sled.
